Robotics

Humphreys Avenue Elementary is proud to offer our students two Robotics programs. Students learn hands on how to apply their math, science, and technology skills to strategize, design, and program robots. Students also use research skills to solve real world problems, such as recycling and nature conservation. These opportunities give our students the ability to discover the endless possibilities and career paths in the fields of science and engineering.
Our 4th - 5th Grade students can participate in our Eaglebots Robotics Team. Our Eaglebots compete in the First Lego League. Students are required to research a real-world engineering challenge, develop a solution, and compete with LEGO-based bots of their own design (fitinspires.org). Our teachers, Mrs. Caudillo and Mrs. Sosa lead our students in this learning and have brought our school many awards from the First Lego League since we began in 2015.

Our 2nd - 3rd grade students can participate in our new Eaglebots Jr. Team. Eaglebots Jr. compete in the First Lego League Jr., which captures students' curiosity by exploring real-world scientific challenges, learning teamwork, and working with motorized Lego elements (fitinspires.org). Our teachers, Mrs. Vasquez and Mrs. Noble are dedicated to preparing our students for this early robotics program.
